Having done numerous different settings on the fairly old 55 kW turbine and manual settings on pitch angle of the Joint Blade Rotor, we have logged and analyzed data for a 35 day period.
The Power Coefficient (Cp) is calculated as 0,528 (53%), and a thoretical max Cp of 0,543. In addition the rotor/turbine starts up at the targeted low wind speed. We find that the theoretical benefits behind the patented rotor have been validated by this test.
There are still more optimizations to be done during the summer of 2020, and we expect the Cp value and the Power Curve to improve even further.
The next period will focus on optimizations, and the search for an opportunity to enter into cooperation where we can experience the full performance of a Joint Blade Rotor on a new windmill.
